The Aurat Nama

The Word “AURAT” as you all know is a woman. A multifaceted, unexplainable extraordinary human being with countless roles. “Nama” quite literally means a letter, a note, a bulletin of sorts. For centuries and centuries the women of the world have been silent in their suffering. Their voices shrill yet weak. The ones who raised them were called rebels, fast girls, feminists and what not..
We live in a so called high tech, inclusive, enlightened, liberal and free world where anyone and everyone can raise their voice right? No, not much has changed. Women are still being raped in broad daylight. Raped. We can’t even say the word without trying to stealthily mumble it in our mouths. I refuse to sit quietly as my daughter grows up in this world.
How? How does this godforsaken world not understand that we have had enough. Enough.

The Aurat Naama is the untold tale of every woman. The silent cries. The supressed emotions. The anger. The struggle. The unbearable pain.
The Aurat Naama is a story that will now be told.
A story that will now be heard.
